Robert Spencer Knotts has created work across a range of forms including books, plays, essays, journalism and music. While each form has its own voice, all explore the same enduring question that runs through his work:

Books and Plays
Knotts is the author of 27 books of fiction, nonfiction and poetry as well as several plays exploring moral development, identity and human fulfillment.
Magazine Stories and Essays
Earlier in his career Knotts worked as a journalist, writing many investigative stories and serving several years as contributing editor for Newsweek's travel magazine. His work also includes articles for such publications as Sports Illustrated and The New York Times as well as more than 2,000 essays and blogs.
Music
Knotts is also a composer, with more than 100 musical works including chamber music, songs and larger orchestral pieces such as a two-movement symphony and an extended tone poem. Several compositions were written in connection with the Humanity Project®, including HumanitySong, the theme music for the Humanity Project podcast.
